Family shattered due to Metro pillar collapse in Bengaluru, Metro pillar collapsed at Nagavara, Bengaluru on January 10th, at about 11 am. A family of four on a two-wheeler were victims of this accident. While the father and his daughter survived injuries, the mother and their two-and-a-half-year-old son died while being treated for their grievous injuries. An FIR has been lodged by the police against the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and the contractor. The incident has triggered widespread rage amongst the citizens, who are now questioning the safety of Namma Metro. Following this accident, there was a major traffic jam on the perpetually congested Hennur road. While the political blame game continues for who is to be held responsible for the accident, the citizens are facing a new safety threat.
